November 2024

On Sunday the 10th of November the inaugural Sounds Australia LA Screen Composer Trade Mission kicked off. Attended by 11 Australian screen composers, hand-picked by an independent panel of USA industry professionals*, we represented a broad range of Australian talent from titans in the industry to rising stars.
The mission was a 6-day intensive that included meetings with Netflix, Amazon, Sony, and Disney execs, composer agents, Riot games, advertising creatives, music supervisors, orchestrators, and much more. It was an extraordinary opportunity for the delegates to network with Hollywood industry and get a foot in the door. The week culminated in an industry showcase at the Night Temple, where a 9-piece string ensemble performed a work by all of us in a gorgeous house in the Hollywood hills.

Thanks to Esti, Glenn, Tess and Larry at Sounds Australia, Thomas at Whitebear PR, and the AGSC, this is a week we will never forget. It was a privilege to travel with the group and spend time getting to know each other. Now, Hollywood knows we exist, and knows Australia has great tax incentives to bring them here.
